Weekly Update: Graceful Fitting!

This outfit is just amazing! It is cute, it fits the avatar well, all the items complement each other, and the colors are unique. This is the kind of outfit that makes the others we get seem so, well, blah.

In my example, I used the dress and the shoes along with some other accessories that work with the items nicely. The only thing I wish was better was the price of the dress (which is like 40 gems). I was able to buy the shoes, but the dress will have to wait.

Weekly Closet Update: Trendy Hiker!

The new update is cute, trendy and expensive. However, I dislike it for another reason. Around this time of year I would be expecting either Thanksgiving or Christmas stuff. Not Hiking Outfits and decor. What about you?

In my example, I used the head band from the update in a cute outfit. Honestly, what else could I do?

Weekly Closet Update: Modern Pilgrim

It is almost like Team Lava read my post about last week's update, in which I said: ". . . I would love to have seen some thanksgiving stuff. Maybe a cute pilgrim outfit? . . ." :)

So here we are with an interesting interpretation of a Modern Pilgrim outfit. I think everything, but the dress, are fairly and fashionably reasonable and cute. The headband is my favorite part of the new update. 

In my 3 examples, only the one on the far right uses 3 of the items from the update. The others are some other options, one of which my avatar is wearing right now. Maybe this week we should get a more affordable indian outfit? What are you hoping for? ~ Sky's Limit

Weekly Closet Update: Urban Safari

Last week's update was interesting, seeing as it was a summer outfit in fall. However, I think it is very cute and unlike anything else I have in my closet. In my example I used the shoes and shirt in a slightly different safari outfit. I have no complaints about the update beyond I would love to have seen some thanksgiving stuff. Maybe a cute pilgrim outfit? What about you? ~ Sky's Limit 

Weekly Closet Updates: Hipster Sister and Ballet Beauty

This update was not my favorite whatsoever. The top is cute, but it is an only an orange version of one we already have. The skirt isn't anything new, the sunglasses aren't my fav, and the shoes are ok. Honestly, this update was better than the Halloween update I was expecting.

In my two examples I used the shoes in both, and the glasses in one. 

This update is very beautiful and elegant. I love the entire update, but I must point out that ballerina's don't wear necklaces during ballet practice. 

In my example, I added the wand, snowflake bracelet, and the crown to make it a costume like worn in a performance. 

Both updates are better than some I have seen. However, I have also seen better. What do you think? ~ Sky's Limit

Weekly Closet Update: Fitness Flair

This week I expected to see a halloween outfit, however I was pleasantly surprised. This week's update is a fitness outfit. The top is immodest, but the rest of the update is very cute. I especially like the shoes, which sadly cost 18 gems. The pants are the only thing in the update that cost coins. 

In my example I used the shoes and pants in my sporty outfit.

Weekly Closet Update: Orange Crush

With colorful leaves creeping through the trees and the days getting colder, fall is well on its way if it isn't here already. With this in mind, the new update is perfect for this week with the longer sleeves and fall colors. I know some people where looking for "Halloween" costumes and such, but I for one like this update and wouldn't want a costume in its place. 

The new update has gone back to the 3/4 scale with the cost (3/4 gems, 1/4 coins) but is still a cute outfit. The pants somewhat match a recent update and are not like anything in my closet color wise. Overall, I think the outfit is cute and totally in the fall spirit.

In my example, I used the pants from the update in what I would consider a chic date night outfit.

Weekly Closet Update: Tailored Tomboy

I am slowly, but surely, gaining confidence in Team Lava's newest designs. Not only that, but the prices seem to be dropping! This week's update (and lasts) has not one, but two coin items and the gem items are priced pretty reasonably. 

I think the entire things is very tomboyish and very unique to the rest of our closet. The jacket is cute, the shoes are interesting and the hat is a lot like a black one I have. The jeans are my favorite as I have a pair just like them and love them. Also, they will work perfectly with The Bat Cave's theme. 

In my example, I dressed my avatar in a casual yet warm outfit keeping the slight boyish theme of the new update. Honestly, I'm impressed!

Weekly Closet Update: Pleasingly Plaid

With fall fast approaching, I hope to see more updates like this. I love the new outfit, especially the dress. There are no shoes quite like these in my closet and the necklace is very unique and pretty. The bag matches one of my fall shirts from last year. 

The price point is yet another thing which I am happy about. The necklace and purse cost coins, and the dress and shoes gems but not to many. This update has made me hopeful for the future fall updates. 

In my example, I used the afore mentioned shirt from last fall as well as matching shoes.

Weekly Closet Update: Looking Fly

This was an outfit great idea, however the end product leaves a little to be desired. I didn't like the way the skirt and shirt fit the avatar. Nevertheless, the hat and scarf are cute and unique to my closet.  Then, there is the matter of price.

As a fellow blogger Fashion Story pointed out (see her post on this week's update here), the prices (gem or coin) seem to be only rising each week. This is a disappointment to me, because, by raising the prices, they eliminate the newer players from getting anything fashionable for their avatar for a long time. 

This is of course not to their interest, because if the game is a slow starter many people will just give up and move on taking their money with them. 

In my example that I created for this update, I used the scarf as well as a hat from a recent update to recreate a flight attendant outfit.

(For whatever reason, Team Lava removed this update from the game only days after it came out. However, I would still like to hear your opinions on the design of the outfit itself.)

Weekly Closet Update: Fiery Fall

Love. love, love this update! It is one of a kind and beautiful as well. I honestly have no complaints about the design. And though I wish it was less gems in the closet, I will be buying this dress next time I have 18 gems. The earrings are the only item that cost coins, but they are very cute.

The earrings where put in an odd place (the hat/belt section), but are well worth the coins to get them.  I can see myself using them for contests consistently. In my example, I used the dress and earrings along with a few accessories, to make a beautiful outfit that I honestly love.

Weekly Closet Update: Neon 90's

This week's update is very cute, I love the colors they used in the shirt. The bag is unlike anything else we have and the pants are lighter than the other jeans we have at the moment. I love the necklace and will be buying it for the Bat Cave very soon.

The outfit is a great addition to the catalog as it is one of the few sport like outfits we have, however there is a matter of price. My only negative about this outfit would be that most of it cost gems, which  seems to be a repeat idea of late. 

In my example, I put together a chic black, white and grey outfit that I really like. I used the necklace from the update as well as the hat from a recent update.

Weekly Closet Update: Seventies

Though I would have preferred a different name, the actual outfit is reasonable. The bag is cute, the shoes are unique and the shirt is ok. Overall, I'm impressed with the modesty of the outfit. 

However, there is the matter of closet item price. Everything but the necklace cost gems and I don't think they're worth it.

Weekly Closet Update: Nifty Fifties

This week's update is very retro, and though it isn't my style it is very cute retro. The pink skirt and white top work together very well and the hat and necklace complement the combination very well.

However, once again the price for the closet items where mostly gems. I was able to buy the hat, but that was it. In my outfit I used the hat in a fall outfit with some other unique items.

Weekly Closet Update: Roaring Twenties

This week's update was a day late and honestly I like the modestly and charm of this outfit. Way better than the last few updates, though I would have liked it to be a little more colorful. Maybe a peacock feather in the hat to tie in the shoes. 

That is the only real issue I have with this (beyond the closet price). The dress is unique and cute, who doesn't need another pair of shoes like these, the hat is very useful and the tights are another added bonus. However, everything but the hat cost gems and you know how much that irritates me. 

In my outfit for this week I used the hat and added a few pink accents.

Weekly Closet Update: Monochrome Maiden

This week's update is very unique. The dress is very pretty (though I would have preferred a different color), the ring is cute and the shoes are something I would buy for my other boutique (The Bat Cave). Overall, I thought this was a good new addition to our catalog.

Of course, then I look at the price of the closet items. All the items (except the sunglasses) cost a lot of gems, and I don't really like the sunglasses. In other words the only thing I would change is the price. 

In my example, I showed what I would do if I could buy the items. I added a few accessories. . .

Overall, better than the last few missteps but it still needs a little work. ~ Sky's Limit

Weekly Update: Music Festival

First thought: A bikini top again!

Second thought: the purse looks ok.

Then I looked at the prices. All of these cost gems in the closet.

Weekly Closet Update: Red Hot

This outfit is interesting and unique, but not something I would have picked. However it is also not bad in anyway compared to some I have seen in the last year. 

The closet items, except the shoes, where gems so I will not be buying them anytime soon. I thought the purse and necklace where cute and the jumper was ok. The shoes are on my to buy list once my current boutique renovation is over. 

In my example, I dressed my avatar in a cute business outfit with the shoes from this update. They will work perfectly in my collection, especially for my business outfits.

I love this update, and I'm starting to believe that I'll have a theme outfit for every mood I am in. I love the shirt (the one item I could buy) the most. Of course, with my current on-going reno I don't have much coins to spend at the moment.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Late Independence Day!

This week's update had a 4th of July theme (the name kinda gives that away), so I thought I'd post along with my other 4th of July stuff. 

I was very disappointed with this update, it is such a let down after last years. Honestly, I didn't know what to do with the one item I would even consider buying: the boots. So, the avatar next to the picture of the catalog update is my best shot.
