Sorry about the delay y'all, I've been having a lot of work and school. However, I have finally gotten around to posting this rounds results.

Before we get to the points and final positions, I want to thank you all for joining my contest. You all did very well and where very patient with my moving delays. Thanks a ton!

July Round 3: Theme of Your Boutique (!Finale!)

Round 3: Theme of Your Boutique! Make an outfit that represents your style and your store. It can represent part of your boutique or all of it. The only requirement is that at least one colored item in your outfit and in you boutique are similar.

In my example, my avatar is wearing the color turquoise which, when I am done with my current renovations, will be the prominent color. My boutique theme is Turquoise and Unique!

Post your boutique theme and your focal color when you are ready! You have 48 hours for this Final Round! No Eliminations, I will be adding up all your points at the end and choosing a winner!

The winner will be named Fashionista O' July (2014) and get her outfits posted in a special post on my blog! Thank you for joining and may the best dresser win! ~ Sky's Limit

Results for July Round 2: a Cave Tour at Wind Cave National Park

Everyone did a great job this round! I am sorry I didn't post this earlier, but I am still in the middle of moving and have had very little time to do more than eat, sleep and unpack. Thank you for your patience!

July Round 2: a Cave Tour at Wind Cave National Park

Round 2: a Cave Tour at Wind National Cave

You and your family continue your vacation (see round 1). You next stop is Wind Cave National Park. You decide to take an hour long tour of the cave to take pictures and get out of the summer heat.

Requirements: You must have a clutch or camera, long sleeves and long pants. NO dresses.

You have 24 hours, Post "Cave" when you are down. 1 player will be eliminated based on this rounds score only.

Example: In this example my avatar is wearing jeans and sweater for the cooler air in the cave along with a small clutch so her hands are more free to hold on to the stair railings. The boots are perfect for this or any other kind of hiking.

This round was very interesting to judge because of the simplistic stuff I saw as well as one contestant who copied my example exactly. However, there was a clear score for each outfit. ~ Sky's Limit

July Round 1: Hike in Sequoia National Park

This month I decided to start holding my Fashionista O' the Month contests again. However they will be starting at the beginning of the month instead of the 20th, just cause I can. :)

This month we have 9 contestants, some of whom have won the title before and others who are new to this competition. Here are their boutique names:

This month the overall theme will be National or State Parks

Round 1, Hike in Sequoia National Park: You and your family are on vacation, and the first stop is Sequoia National Park. Get ready for climbing rocks near the waterfalls and walking between the huge trees for which the park got it's name. 

Requirements: You must wear a hat and closed toed shoes.

You have 24hrs. Post 'Trees' when you are ready. At the end of each round I will give you a 1-10/10 score and the two with the lowest scores will be eliminated. 

You may also receive negative points for things such as low modesty, being late or being rude to other contestants. Read my contest rules for details.

In my example my avatar is wearing boots and my hiking hat, along with a comfortable top and shorts. I also included a camera or a portable purse in my outfit because they are both practical. Remember, have fun! ~ Sky's Limit

5 How to Tips For Contestants and Contest Hosts in Regarding to Outfits: a Subject Suggested by moynistwo

Tip #1, Make Sure You Understand the Theme: Don't be afraid to ask questions or request further explanation. Not only does this help you do your best in the competition but it can help the contest host learn how to explain herself to her contestants. To my Contest Hosts out there, if you can tell that someone does not understand what you are asking then find a way to help them without making them feel humiliated or embarrassed. 

By understanding what you are dressing for, your outfit will be way better equipped for the contest and you've got a very good chance on making it to the next round.

Tip #2, Combine Matching and Colorful: Try to have matching items in your outfits but at the same time don't be afraid to add that pop or surprise item that can take your outfit to the next level. You want their first reaction to be "wow, this person did a great job" or anything like that.

This is something which I apply to more than just Fashion Story Avatar Contests. I also apply it to writing blog posts, drawing, the list goes on. 

Tip #3. Beautiful Can Be Less Coins: You might think that the more coins/gems an item is, the cuter it will be. This is not always the case, so I don't worry about the end cost of my outfit in real life or in Fashion Story. For instance for my Christmas Outfits I used some of the items you get for free in the beginning, at like level 80 (or something like that). Anyway, price isn't a defining factor in my choices for winners of my contests nor of what I wear for contests I am in.

Just something to think about and watch out for.

Tip #4. Accessories, Accessories and more Accessories: I know you have most likely heard this many times, but I happen to know that the accessories you chose can change an outfit from elegant to casual, basketball time to date time, etc. Pick your accessories with care and remember to experiment with what goes and what doesn't. 

Tip #5. Ask For Pointers From Contest Host if You Get Eliminated: If your outfit doesn't 'cut it' ask for the honest reasons and learn from their critic. Most of the ladies I know would gladly give pointers to their contestants and I know I have in the past though only when asked.  

To those of you who are contest hosts, keep in mind that you owe it to your voluntary contestants to make being in your contest as fun as you can. 

To those of you who are contestants, I hope this list helps you and I hope that you will have taken something away after reading this.

March Round 3: Theme of Your Boutique!

Let's hear a round of applause to our finalists!

Round 5: Theme of Your Boutique! You are to dress to represent your boutique's unique theme to the press! Post the Theme of Your Boutique when you are done (ex. Green and Blue Beach Chic), you have 24 hours to change.

This round I will be adding up your overall scores so no eliminations, You are the top 6! Remember only one person can be named Fashionista O' March, so chose your outfits wisely and be creative!  

Thank you all for being so patient with me... this year is going to a crazy year for me and I feel like its only getting crazier. This may well be my last contest until summer, maybe longer.

Example: Because everyone has a unique theme, your outfit should not look exactly like mine. However here are some basic ideas to help you dress your avatar in the theme of your boutique. First, "Does your boutique have any distinct colors?" in my case my theme is Batman, so black and gray are prominent colors in my decor and displayed clothes items. Second, "Is some of your decor specific to a certain climate/habitat?" currently The Bat Cave doesn't have its full decor, but I think you get the idea. You could also dress in items that can commonly be found in your store. Don't forget to add a pop of color (like the rose in my outfit) to make your outfit stand out!
