Dear Readers

Hi everyone. 

I just wanted to tell you I am taking a break from Fashion Story and may not be on or blogging about it for a little while. I am still looking for ideas for blog posts, but have so far found nothing that sparked my interest. Thank you for visiting my blog and let me know if you have any suggestions either in the comments here or on my Questions & Suggestions page. I will continue to look for ideas during this break and I hope to be writing here again soon.

Weekly Closet Update: Modern Pilgrim

It is almost like Team Lava read my post about last week's update, in which I said: ". . . I would love to have seen some thanksgiving stuff. Maybe a cute pilgrim outfit? . . ." :)

So here we are with an interesting interpretation of a Modern Pilgrim outfit. I think everything, but the dress, are fairly and fashionably reasonable and cute. The headband is my favorite part of the new update. 

In my 3 examples, only the one on the far right uses 3 of the items from the update. The others are some other options, one of which my avatar is wearing right now. Maybe this week we should get a more affordable indian outfit? What are you hoping for? ~ Sky's Limit

Sky's Limit: 1 Year Blog Anniversary

On November 12, 2013 at 11:48pm I posted my first post here on Sky's Limit. This last year has been quite an adventure and I cant wait to see what the second year will bring. I started out by posting tutorials for avatar contests and went from there. I listened to suggestions, made Fashion Story blogger connections and had a lot of fun. And I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

For me, blogging is a way to share my opinion with the Fashion Story world and hear what others think as well. I also love sharing what happens in my contests and giving the winners a special place on my blog.

In one year Sky's Limit has had almost 15,000 page views, 46 comments and 178 posts (including this one). I would like to thank my mom and editor, the Fashion Story community and the other Fashion Story Blogs.

Weekly Closet Update: Urban Safari

Last week's update was interesting, seeing as it was a summer outfit in fall. However, I think it is very cute and unlike anything else I have in my closet. In my example I used the shoes and shirt in a slightly different safari outfit. I have no complaints about the update beyond I would love to have seen some thanksgiving stuff. Maybe a cute pilgrim outfit? What about you? ~ Sky's Limit 

Weekly Closet Update: Tailored Tomboy

I am slowly, but surely, gaining confidence in Team Lava's newest designs. Not only that, but the prices seem to be dropping! This week's update (and lasts) has not one, but two coin items and the gem items are priced pretty reasonably. 

I think the entire things is very tomboyish and very unique to the rest of our closet. The jacket is cute, the shoes are interesting and the hat is a lot like a black one I have. The jeans are my favorite as I have a pair just like them and love them. Also, they will work perfectly with The Bat Cave's theme. 

In my example, I dressed my avatar in a casual yet warm outfit keeping the slight boyish theme of the new update. Honestly, I'm impressed!

Weekly Closet Update: Pleasingly Plaid

With fall fast approaching, I hope to see more updates like this. I love the new outfit, especially the dress. There are no shoes quite like these in my closet and the necklace is very unique and pretty. The bag matches one of my fall shirts from last year. 

The price point is yet another thing which I am happy about. The necklace and purse cost coins, and the dress and shoes gems but not to many. This update has made me hopeful for the future fall updates. 

In my example, I used the afore mentioned shirt from last fall as well as matching shoes.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Late Independence Day!

This week's update had a 4th of July theme (the name kinda gives that away), so I thought I'd post along with my other 4th of July stuff. 

I was very disappointed with this update, it is such a let down after last years. Honestly, I didn't know what to do with the one item I would even consider buying: the boots. So, the avatar next to the picture of the catalog update is my best shot.

Weekly Closet Update: Fool's Fashion

Fool's Fashion is right! Honestly Team Lava? Is this the best you can come up with for April Fools Day? This week I decided to not even buy any of the cloth items or model them in an outfit. This is just ugh!

Everything is (in my opinion) utterly useless, so don't buy it. Next week better be at least reasonable... If not for the newer players, than for those of us who Know you can do better.

Fashionista O' February: Lovelicious

On January 24, 2014, 15 contestants prepared their outfits for the first round all hoping to be named Fashionista O' February. At first I thought that last months winner, Sparkle, would win by a landslide. However, Lovelicious moved up in the point department and past Sparkle.

In the collage above and on the left is Lovelicious' outfit for Round 1, Holiday: Valentine's Day, in the middle is her outfit for Round 2, Undercover: Waitress and on the right is her outfit for Round 3, February Special: Pink Casual.

In the collage below on the left is her outfit for Round 4, Outing: Sleepover and on the right her outfit for  Round 5: Theme of Your Boutique, Lovelicious' theme was Valentine.

Weekly Update: Pure Amour

These last few months weekly closet updates have been really disappointing, and this weeks just didn't cut it for me. I honestly don't understand Team Lava's inability to come up with just one cute Valentine's Day outfit!

The only thing which I liked about this new outfit is that the two coin items (the shirt and headband) where decently priced and affordable for the middle group of players in Fashion Story. The gem items are in my opinion are among the least useable pieces of clothing we have in our closets. 

In my example on the left I used the new shirt in a chic business outfit. This seemed to be the only outfit that the shirt really worked with in my current closet. On the right I used the new headband in a casual and pink outfit which I would wear on any week day. ~ Sky's Limit

Weekly Update: Classy Valentine

This weeks update was another huge disappointment... The dress and bracelet costs gems and The purse doesn't even really go with the outfit. The only thing I like was the shoes... One of my avatars outfits feature the new shoes and the other the new purse. Honestly, TeamLava's outfit design is going downhill... Fast.

February Round 1, Holiday: Valentine's Day

Welcome to my second Fashionista O' the month 2014, and my first Fashionista O' February contest ladies! I will be posting not only the rounds here, but also the Top contestants for each round, the points and eliminations. 3 players will be eliminated each round unless I indicate otherwise. 

There will not always be a required item, but if there is and you don't include it in your outfit there will be points taken off your score. I will post some of the details on my Fashion Story wall, but all of the details will be posted here.

Required Item: You must include one red item in your outfit. This can include anything that has red on it as well (such as the purse in the example pic).

Example: In the picture above I am wearing several red items, such as the shirt, purse and shoes. I suggest black with your red item, but that is just me. The earrings and skirt add a little elegance and beauty while the belt just brings the outfit together. Have Fun! ~ Sky's Limit

Holiday Stuff is Leaving, so Buy What You Are Going to Buy Soon!

I know this is a picture from Bakery Story, but I got the same notification from Fashion Story a few days ago (I didn't think to snap a screenshot when it came up). 

Based on what I have seen and heard, all the Winter Holiday items will be removed from iOS games between Wednesday, January 15th and Friday, January 17th, so get what you are going to get before they disappear! ~ Sky's Limit

The Christmas Story

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 

He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.

 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.
