Weekly Closet Update: Tailored Tomboy

I am slowly, but surely, gaining confidence in Team Lava's newest designs. Not only that, but the prices seem to be dropping! This week's update (and lasts) has not one, but two coin items and the gem items are priced pretty reasonably.

I think the entire things is very tomboyish and very unique to the rest of our closet. The jacket is cute, the shoes are interesting and the hat is a lot like a black one I have. The jeans are my favorite as I have a pair just like them and love them. Also, they will work perfectly with The Bat Cave's theme

In my example, I dressed my avatar in a casual yet warm outfit keeping the slight boyish theme of the new update. Honestly, I'm impressed!

Weekly Closet Update: Pleasingly Plaid

With fall fast approaching, I hope to see more updates like this. I love the new outfit, especially the dress. There are no shoes quite like these in my closet and the necklace is very unique and pretty. The bag matches one of my fall shirts from last year.

The price point is yet another thing which I am happy about. The necklace and purse cost coins, and the dress and shoes gems but not to many. This update has made me hopeful for the future fall updates.

In my example, I used the afore mentioned shirt from last fall as well as matching shoes.

Weekly Closet Update: Looking Fly

This was an outfit great idea, however the end product leaves a little to be desired. I didn't like the way the skirt and shirt fit the avatar. Nevertheless, the hat and scarf are cute and unique to my closet.  Then, there is the matter of price.

As a fellow blogger Fashion Story pointed out (see her post on this week's update here), the prices (gem or coin) seem to be only rising each week. This is a disappointment to me, because, by raising the prices, they eliminate the newer players from getting anything fashionable for their avatar for a long time.

This is of course not to their interest, because if the game is a slow starter many people will just give up and move on taking their money with them.

In my example that I created for this update, I used the scarf as well as a hat from a recent update to recreate a flight attendant outfit.

(For whatever reason, Team Lava removed this update from the game only days after it came out. However, I would still like to hear your opinions on the design of the outfit itself.)

Fashionista O' July (2014): Paris Couture

This last July 9 contestants entered my Fashionista O' July contest in hopes of winning. However, there can be only 1 winner and that winner was Paris Couture. She got the top outfit for the first two rounds which carried her through the tough final round.

Round 1: Hike in Sequoia National Park was a good beginning to a good contest for Paris Couture. As you can see above, her outfit matched all the criteria from the round. (To see the results, click here)

In Round 2: a Cave Tour at Wind Cave National Park, the National Park theme became clear and it was interesting to see the contestants work with the requirements. I had some issues with copying by another contestant, but it was unintentional so I let it go. (to see the results, click here)

The final round was very unique and fun to watch as it always throws people off. That is why I always use it... This round Paris Couture didn't do as well as before, but no one is perfect. (to see results, click here)

I apologize for the lateness of this post, but between school, moving, etc I have had very little time to spend on this and I have other priorities (such as family). Thank you for your patience and congrats Paris Couture and welcome to the label of Fashionista's of 2014! ~ Sky's Limit

Covet Fashion Update

In the last couple of weeks, Covet Fashion released an update which (though it changed many little things) only has a real impact on two things. Those two things are voting and how you look at your closet.

First off we will talk about the voting part of the update. Each arrow is color coded:

Blue: Tap this if you strongly prefer (in other words really like) the outfit on that side.

Red: Tap this if you prefer (in other words you think it is a little better than the other outfit) the outfit above it.

Pink: Tap this if you feel like the outfits are about the same.

When you choose, the scores are either strongly increased and decreased (blue) or just increased and decreased (red) or they stay the same (pink). You can still use the old tap the outfit you like better, but it automatically does the red.

The second thing which the update changed was how to access you closet. Instead of tapping the my closet tab (which no longer exists), you tap you user name as indicated by the red arrow. This gives you access to your closet.

What are you thoughts on the new voting system? Do you think it is better or worse than the old one? ~ Sky's Limit (skyslimit1190)

Weekly Closet Update: Fiery Fall

Love. love, love this update! It is one of a kind and beautiful as well. I honestly have no complaints about the design. And though I wish it was less gems in the closet, I will be buying this dress next time I have 18 gems. The earrings are the only item that cost coins, but they are very cute.

The earrings where put in an odd place (the hat/belt section), but are well worth the coins to get them.  I can see myself using them for contests consistently. In my example, I used the dress and earrings along with a few accessories, to make a beautiful outfit that I honestly love.
